Great news from Luxembourg! 🎉♻️I'm excited to share this post from Vytal Lëtzebuerg (Cheryl Ury, Luloop) about the Grand Ducal Regulation on waste prevention and management, making reusable tableware mandatory in certain settings, such as canteens and festivals, and seting ambitious targets for reducing single-use plastic items.As an aspiring expert and fellow advocate in sustainable development, I believe that this regulation represents an important step towards a more circular and sustainable economy in Luxembourg. By promoting reuse, we can reduce waste generation and preserve our planet for future generations.I'm inspired by Vytal Lëtzebuerg's positive attitude towards these upcoming regulation, seeing them as an opportunity to innovate and create more sustainable solutions. Are you annoyed when you're stuck in traffic in the morning on the roads in and around Luxembourg? Close your eyes for a moment and imagine being stuck behind all the trucks containing the 2.12 billion tons of waste that we humans produce globally each year 🚛 Now, you're really frustrated!*Let's channel this energy to transform our behaviors and economies.Even though today is Global Recycling Day, let's remember the 4Rs:⛔ Refuse🤏 Reduce💚 Reuse♻️ Recycle, only if you don't have a choice, as just one part of a broader waste management strategy.It's actually a podcast episode ("Le recyclage est une ordure", aired in 2021) of the ARTE series "Vivons heureux avant la fin du monde", that helped me understand that while recycling is a necessary step towards reducing waste, it has become a way for us to feel less guilty, and thus not searching for a solution. ☕ This morning I was happy to attend the 5th edition of #WakeUp - organized by Infogreen Luxembourg - a participative worksop focusing on the challenges of the circular economy ♻️ Some key highlights of this interesting and interactive session:🏔️ We explored the "Value Hill": a framework that helps businesses to position themselves, their strategy and their value chain in a circular context.🌐 We discovered the impactful concept of "network organizations" playing a critical role in the circular economy, by facilitating collaboration and coordination among diverse actors, enabling the creation of closed-loop systems that minimize waste and maximize the value of resources.🌱 We engaged in meaningful conversations with Jérôme Dierickx, Marie Vanderstichel, Elvin Hervieu, Christophe Decamps, Frédéric Liégeois, Marie-Astrid Heyde and the Infogreen Luxembourg team, discussing current challenges and future solutions for Luxembourg.Implementing sustainable operating models must be a priority for businesses and communities alike.
