The $1.6tn asset manager has recruited a 20-year bond investment veteran from Alliance Bernstein.

Franklin Templeton has recruited a portfolio manager from Alliance Bernstein for its global sukuk and Middle East North Africa (Mena) fixed income team.

Hardeep Dogra was previously a fund manager on AB’s global emerging market debt team in London, where he co-managed over $25bn in assets. Based in Dubai, he will report to Franklin chief investment officer for global sukuk and Mena fixed income Mohieddine Kronfol.

Franklin Templeton’s global sukuk and Mena fixed income team runs $3.8bn. Besides Dubai, it has bases in Riyadh, Kuala Lumpur and Hyderabad. The US asset manager oversees more than $200bn in fixed income, out of its total assets under management of $1.6tn.
